This poster design was the outcome of an exquisite poem generated by our group and led by instructor Pedro Neves, who was exploring modular type on the letterpress. Each member added a new line to what resulted in a strangely moving, egg-themed poem. From there we decided to title the poem Flipped, as it adequately described the content, process, and technique. From there we each composed a letter out of legos and printed the final composition on the letterpress in the UIC print lab. The final work was displayed at the 2024 UIC End of Year Show and the 2025-2026 exhibiton, A2Z: Learning Through LEGO® and Letterforms, at the Design Museum of Chicago.
This is the result of a riso-animation workshop led by Lisa Armstrong at the UIC School of Design in 2024. Our group sought to reframe a clip of popular media, selecting the most iconic scene from Kubrick’s The Shining. Wanting to neutralize the fear, we collaboratively doodled over the frames before scanning them back into motion. I created the soundtrack to further enhance the visuals.
